Ultrasound, CT or MRI scans - Referral & Follow-up

Mr Parker may refer you for a diagnostic test such as an ultrasound, CT, or MRI scan. If you are a private patient Mr Parker will give you your referral form at your consultation to take directly to the radiology/MRI department. The referral will be vetted by the radiologist (which can take up to 10 days), and the hospital's MRI department will then contact you with an appointment date for your scan.

The report for a CT/MRI scan usually takes between 4-10 days. However, we would recommend asking on the day of the scan, how long the report will likely take. This is because we may not actually be notified of your report being ready until some time after, so it enables us to arrange an appropriate follow-up appointment for you as soon as possible.  The report for an ultrasound scan is usually done within a couple of days of your scan.

If you haven't heard from the hospital reference your scan 10 days after your initial consultation, please contact the relevant MRI/radiology department to chase your appointment (details below). Mr Parker is not notified of when you have had your appointment arranged.

Once you have had your scan, you should contact the relevant person (details below) to arrange your follow-up appointment with Mr Parker.

Ultrasound Guided Injection - Referral & Follow-up

Mr Parker may recommend an ultrasound guided injection which is carried out by the Consultant Radiologist. Mr Parker will complete a referral which is sent to the radiology department, and the hospital's radiology department will then contact you with an appointment date.

If you haven't heard from the hospital reference your injection 10 days after your initial consultation, please contact the relevant MRI/radiology department to chase your appointment (details below). Mr Parker is not notified of when you have had your appointment arranged.

Physiotherapy - Referral & Follow-up

Mr Parker May recommend having some sessions of physiotherapy. Mr Parker will do a referral to the physiotherapy department at which you are attending. If after 10 days from your consultation, you have not received notification of your first physiotherapy appointment, please contact the relevant person below:

Having Your Diagnostic Test or Physiotherapy at Another Hospital

As a private patient, it is not mandatory to have your scan or physiotherapy carried out at the hospital in which you are attending. If you decide to have this carried out elsewhere, please ensure you inform Mr Parker. You will also need a copy of your completed referral form.

If you are having a CT or MRI scan, and after you have handed your referral form to the Radiology department, you decide to have your scan done elsewhere, you will need to request a copy from the Radiology department to give to your chosen hospital/clinic (contact details are available below). You will also want to ask the clinical facility at which you will be attending, how long the report will take. You will need to request that the report is sent to Mr Parker at either The Priory Hospital, Woodlands Hospital, or directly to the Practice Manager.  Please note that where scans/investigations are performed outside of Circle Health Group, Mr Parker will not be routinely notified of the results, so it is the patient's responsibility to ensure that they get to us in order to arrange the follow-up consultation.

Self-Pay Patients - Ultrasound/CT MRI Scans, Ultrasound Guided Injections & Physiotherapy

The hospital will provide a quote for any diagnostic tests such as an x-ray, ultrasound, CT or MRI scan, or physiotherapy sessions, which may be required following your consultation. The fees for such tests/treatment are paid directly to the hospital, and do not include Mr Parker's consultation fee. Please always ensure that you are aware of the associated fees before proceeding with the test.

Private Medical Insurance Patients - Ultrasound/CT MRI Scans, Ultrasound Guided Injections & Physiotherapy
