Ultrasound, CT or MRI scans - Referral

Mr Parker may refer you for a diagnostic test such as an ultrasound, CT, or MRI scan. If you are a private patient Mr Parker will give you your referral form at your consultation to take directly to the radiology/MRI department. The referral will be vetted by the radiologist (which can take up to 10 days), and the hospital's MRI department will then contact you with an appointment date for your scan.

The report for a CT/MRI scan usually takes between 4-10 days. The report for an ultrasound scan is usually done within a couple of days of your scan. NHS wait times vary. You will need to contact us to arrange a follow-up consultation for the results of your scan.

Ultrasound Guided Injection - Referral & Follow-up

Mr Parker may recommend an ultrasound guided injection which is carried out by the Consultant Radiologist. Mr Parker will complete a referral which is sent to the radiology department, and the hospital's radiology department will then contact you with an appointment date. You will need to contact us to arrange a follow-up consultation for 4-6 weeks after the injection.

Physiotherapy - Referral & Follow-up

Mr Parker may recommend having some sessions of physiotherapy. Mr Parker will do a referral to the physiotherapy department at which you are attending. Once you have finished your course of physiotherapy sessions, you will need to contact us to arrange a follow-up consultation.

Self-Pay Patients Fees - Ultrasound/CT MRI Scans, Ultrasound Guided Injections & Physiotherapy

The hospital will provide a quote for any diagnostic tests such as an x-ray, ultrasound, CT or MRI scan, or physiotherapy sessions, which may be required following your consultation. The fees for such scans/treatment are paid directly to the hospital, and do not include a follow-up consultation with Mr Parker. The follow-up consultation is charged at £130. Please always ensure that you are aware of the associated fees before proceeding with the scan/treatment.

Private Medical Insurance Patients Fees - Ultrasound/CT MRI Scans, Ultrasound Guided Injections & Physiotherapy

You will need to get authorisation from your insurance company prior to having any diagnostic tests (ultrasound, MRI/CT scan etc.), ultrasound guided injections or physiotherapy. The fees for such tests/treatment are charged directly to your insurance company by the hospital, and do not include a follow-up consultation with Mr Parker. The follow-up consultation is charged separately to your insurance company by Mr Parker.

Outstanding Consultation Fees/Medical Insurance Excess

Please note that we are unable to make you a follow-up consultation with the results of your scan, or after your physiotherapy or injection, if there are any outstanding consultation fees or excess owing. Click here for further information. If you are aware you have an excess to pay and haven't been sent an invoice by Mr Parker, please contact Sarah Watson (Practice Manager) on 07725118835 or email info@mrpaulparker.com. Payment is required within 7 days of our invoice and can be made via bank transfer (BACS details are provided via invoice), or via cheque made payable to Mr Paul Parker. Once payment is received, you will be able to contact us to arrange your follow-up consultation.

Having Your Scan, Investigation or Physiotherapy at Another Hospital

As a private patient, it is not mandatory to have your scan, investigations or physiotherapy carried out at the hospital in which you are attending. If you decide to have this carried out elsewhere, please ensure you inform Mr Parker. You will also need a copy of your completed referral form.

If you are having a CT, MRI or ultrasound scan, and after you have handed your referral form to the Radiology department, you decide to have your scan done elsewhere, you will need to request a copy from the Radiology department to give to your chosen hospital/clinic (contact details are available below). You will also want to ask the clinical facility at which you will be attending, how long the report will take. You will need to request that the report is sent to Mr Parker at either The Priory Hospital, Woodlands Hospital, or directly to the Practice Manager.  Please note that where scans/investigations are performed outside of Circle Health Group, Mr Parker will not be routinely notified of the results, so it is the patient's responsibility to ensure that they get to us in order to arrange the follow-up consultation.
