Mr Paul Parker Ankle Ligament Repair and Reconstruction

Ankle ligament repair
reconstruction
(AFTL/CFL)

Ankle ligament injuries are common and mostly they heal by themselves, however, sometimes nature needs a helping hand, particularly for more severe injuries where surgery is required to reattach or reconstruct the ligaments.

  • An MRI scan is required before surgery, which Mr Parker will arrange for you

  • Surgery is performed as a day case under general anaesthetic

  • 3 weeks in a plaster followed by 3 weeks in a moon boot is required post surgery

  • You will be fit to return to work/drive 6-8 weeks post surgery

  • You will require 5-6 sessions of physiotherapy after having your surgery.

Please always remember to ask Mr Parker at your consultation reference any specific recovery queries relating to your job or lifestyle.
